Ilo Jean  Fankhauser (Burniston)

Ilo Jean Fankhauser, 80, passed peacefully Thursday, November 16, 2017 at home with family at her side. Born in Garrett, she was a daughter to the late Earl and Margaret (McNanny) Burniston. Ilo and her husband were the owners of Fankhauser Realtors and Steam Pro Carpet Cleaning.

Ilo is survived by a son and daughter in law, Donald Jr. and Dr. Anna Fankhauser of West Virginia; daughters and sons in law, Diane Templar, Karen (Mike) Archer and Constance (Ronald) Floyd all of Fort Wayne; son in law, Steve Walker of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, Keith Walker, Carrie Widmeyer, Jessica Dalman, Joe Floyd, Jeremy Floyd, Natalie Archer, Zachary Archer, Kevin Templar, Craig Templar, Vanessa Fankauser, Ashley Strahm and Steven Strahm; 21 1/2 great grandchildren, Destiny, Daphney, Brantley, Logan, Haley, Taylor, Madison, Skylar, Alexander, Noah, Jordan, Dyllan, Dylainey, Isabella, Makenzy, Collin, Callista, Seth, Dakota, Ryan, Steven III and one on the way due this summer; and one great great granddaughter, Emersen.

Ilo was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Fankhauser Sr., in 2005; a daughter, Deborah Walker, in 2003; a son, Daniel Fankhauser, in 2014; and all of her siblings, Dorothy Contadellucci, Mary Rottger, Ray, Joseph, James, Charles, Robert and Walter Burniston.

Private family services were held for Ilo. She was laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
