Jack Eldon "Winged Turtle"  Smith
Jack Eldon “Winged Turtle” Smith, 83, walked on July 17, 2017 at his home with his wife of 63 years at his side. He enjoyed his journey on this earth by spending time with his family, friends and sharing his many talents, fishing, working with the Boy Scouts, his Native American dance team “The Wagion” Dancers. Dancing at the Pow Wows or telling stories at camp fire. He retired from Slater Steel Corporation giving him more time to drive around in his “little purple truck”.

He leaves many loving memories with his wife, Patricia, daughters Candace (Warren) Schladenhauffen, Christina (Paul Mike) Zins, Cynthia Lynn Hull, grandchildren, Austin, Brittney, Kachina, Cameron, great-grandchildren, Asher and Wyatt, nephew Christopher (Laura) Harrington, great niece “Little Jackie” great nephew Paxton. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two, brothers, Dick & Bob Smith, sister, Cirilla Jean Smith and a granddaughter Raven.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday July 21, 2017 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 30 minutes prior to service. Elder Lucy LaHurreau will be officiating. There is also viewing Thursday July 20, 2017 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Whitley County Hospice or Mihsihkinaahkwa Pow Wow.
