Obituary for Mildred Rosalia Rahrig (Weber)

Mildred Rosalia  Rahrig (Weber)
Mildred R. Rahrig, 84, passed away Monday July 25, 2016. She was born December 28, 1931 in Landeck, Ohio second of 13 children to the late Francis and Mary Weber. In 1949 she graduated from Ottoville High School as Valedictorian. On June 13, 1953 Mildred married the love of her life Michael E. Rahrig who preceded her in death on April 10, 2012. Mildred worked 25 years in Human Resources for J.C. Penney. Mildred was also a loving homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was very active in Bible study, playing cards, book clubs, and traveling the world as well as very active in her retirement community.

Surviving are her children, Tony (Patricia) Rahrig, Diane (Steve) Michaels, Nancy Siegel, Tim Rahrig, Jeff (Erin) Rahrig, Patty (Dave) Sexton, Jerry (Sarah) Rahrig, Kris McDermott, 12 grandchildren, Allison (Steve) Spagnolo, Ryan Rahrig, Christopher (Susan) Michaels, Jason (Breanna) Siegel, Matt (Kelli) Siegel, Hadley and Gabrielle Rahrig, Samantha, Natalie, and Caroline Rahrig, Emily and Mary McDermott, 4 great-grandchildren, Erik and Nolan Michaels, Jack and Edward Siegel, 10 siblings and a host of nephews and nieces. Mildred will be missed by her extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Katie McDermott and 2 brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 10700 Aboite Center Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with calling one hour prior to Mass. There is also calling Thursday July 28, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Preferred memorials are to W.F.W.A. TV. PBS 39 P.O. Box 2589 Ft. Wayne, IN 46801 or Bishop Luers High School. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
