Patrick Edward Fairhurst, 76, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was born March 12, 1940 in Defiance, OH to Enid and the late Richard Fairhurst. Patrick was in the food distribution and sales business for about 40 years and retired from U.S. Foods as regional sales manager in 2002. He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. Pat was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a United States Army Veteran serving 1958 - 1961 where he was an expert Marksman. Pat was a member of the Chestnut Hills Golf Course. During his lifetime he made at least 4 hole-in-ones and had a 4 handicap. He ran 2 Fort Wayne Marathons and was an avid fisherman.

Surviving is his wife Christa (Dietz) Fairhurst, his mother, Enid Fairhurst, children, Eric Fairhurst, Debbie (Mary Jo Baughman) Fairhurst, Patricia (Jim) Berles, brother, Michael (Mary) Fairhurst, grandchildren, Ethan (Crystal) Jones , Madeline Jones, Alex (Heather) Jones, great-grandchildren, Noah and Brayden Jones and brother-in-law Wolfgang Weingartner along with many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Patrick’s request there will be a private family service and entombment. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice 5910 Homestead Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46804
